Nelson Mandela's Achievements

'\-In 1944 Mandela helped found the ANC Youth League
-In 1952 Mandela and Tambo opened the first Black Law firm in South Africa
-In 1993 Nelson Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize

Nelson Mandela's Turning Points

-At university, Nelson Mandela became increasingly aware of the unjust nature of South African Society
-To the disappointment of his family, Mandela became involved in politics
-With his good friend and comrade Oliver Tambo, opened the first Black Law firm in South Africa
-Mandela helped found the ANC Youth League, who were charged with treason
-The Sharpeville massacre of 63 black, this led Mandela to advocate armed struggle through the Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK)
-Mandela had been arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment, the South African establishment increasingly looked to negotiation,led to Mandela’s release
-Mandela was first democratically elected State President of South Africa on and was President until June 1999. Mandela presided over the transition from minority rule and apartheid
-HIV epidemic,lead Nelson Mandela lost his eldest son and he has worked hard to campaign on this issue

1952 - Defiance Campaign and later acts of sabotage
1962 - Mandela had been arrested
1990 - Mandela was released
1993 - Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize
1994 - the first elected State President of South Africa
1999 - finished the President until June
